Pakistani music and Pakistani songs are influenced by the music of many other countries in South and Central Asia like India, Iran, Afghanistan, Turkey and Arab. Pakistani music is influenced by western music also. A majority of Pakistani songs are sung in Punjabi and urdu languages.
Pakistani songs at Raag.fm include Pakistani ghazals, qawwalis, Pakistani film songs or Pakistani movie songs. In traditional Pakistani music, musical instruments like tabla, dholak and harmonium are used. But in non-traditional music like that of Pakistani film songs, electronic and more advanced music instruments are also used.
Pakistan's film industry known as "Lollywood" is based in Lahore. One of the most famous singers of the Pakistan film industry is Madame Noor Jehan. She used to sing for Pakistani films and television. Her songs were Pakistani film songs, ghazals, Pakistani folk songs and patriotic songs (milli naghmey).
The most famous male singer of Pakistan film industry is Ahmed Rushdi, also known as the ‘Melody Prince’ or ‘The Magician of Voice’. Ahmed Rushdi is one of the most versatile singers of South Asia and his songs had a great impact on Indian and Bangladesh music industry. Ahmed Rushdi is considered to be the only playback singer of Pakistan who was the master of all moods and expressions.
