Satinder Satti the name that reckons with Punjabi cultureand Television was only eight years old when she first performed on stage. Belonging to a baptised Sikh family she had never thought she would make so big one day. She is an anchor artist and a singer now. Satinder Satti who had anchored many of the television programmes has came out with first video album The Swing Peengh released here on Thursday. Satti told the Pioneer that initially when she started acting on stage than she had never thought to become as popular figure as her family was not in favour of her performances at the stages. She however continued though very casually. he said that as her father was serving with the Indian army so she too had planned to join the army and when she turned 19 she got a chance for the selection but couldn t make it. Satti after completing her graduation did Law and later masters in Law but though she came with a background of convent education but every time her passion for mother tongue Punjabi dominated over her. She said that when Lakhwinder Johl made an offer of Lishkara programme s anchoring with an honorarium of Rs. 1 000 she never looked back after that. She said that when the programme turned out to be a hit than she started taking keen interest in it and decided to adopt it as her profession. She said that now she could say that she was only born to serve the Punjabi culture and stage. She thanked her critics who kept her aware of shortcomings all through her cariier. She claimed that besides her frequent experiments on the stage and love of the people and especially media had come as a breather for me. She said that in the world of television a better look and glamour s combination was considered the best but myself comes with flying colours without a God father or God mother. She Said Now I feel satisfied with my work as I did my work honestly. I owe my success to people s love. Regarding her turn towards singing she said that she had given a serious thought over this matter as she found no popular female singer as far as Punjabi is concerned. She said she a rehersed with sufiana stlyle through Damadum Mast Kalandhar for a long time and Sushil Kumar Jain of Mohali and Devinder Bhaji have played good role in grooming her into a singer. She said that though jaspinder narula tried her luck but she had no time because she resides in New Delhi and Mumbai and field was open to her. When asked about her marriage plans she replied that the process was on and she is going to tie the not in current year as her family has selected one boy for me and its going to be an arranged marriage. She said that she had many hopes from her album The Swing which was picturized in Mumbai. She said that this album containes eight songs penned by famous lyricist Shamsher Singh Sandhu Satta Kotliwala Pali Raipur Deep Alla Chorian Sharanjit Fida and Nek Berang and the album s video director is Ajay Jain and R Swami. Shew wanted piracy to end. This is what every artist wished in this world. She hoped that governmment would take stringent measures to curb the menance.
